What is the difference between QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop versions?

1. QuickBooks online is web-based and you pay monthly to use it. So, you log into your QuickBooks Online account over the Internet. With QuickBooks Desktop you purchase the program one time and install it on your computer and you can use it and pay an annual subscription fee.

2. With QuickBooks Online you can do your bookkeeping at any location with a computer and Internet connection. With QuickBooks Desktop you can only use the program on the computer that you installed the program on.

3. Both programs have the same basic concept. However, the way they work is totally different as far as where the function menus are.
